The 20th International Congress on Glass is to be held
 at Kyoto in Japan on September 26-October 1. The event has 
been organised by the Ceramic Society of Japan under the 
auspices of the International Commission on Glass. The 
Congress will concentrate on the new development and 
applications of glass and its official language will be
